As one of the world’s largest energy companies, Petrobras invests heavily in exploration technologies to identify new oil and gas reserves while minimizing operational risk. However, engineers relied on multiple independent simulation tools, creating fragmented workflows and making complex analyses harder to manage.
Petrofoam was created to unify these exploration simulators into a single platform. Working closely with engineers and domain specialists, I led the product design effort, transforming highly technical processes into a consistent experience that streamlined navigation, simulation setup, and data analysis.
By centralizing critical exploration tools, Petrofoam helped reduce operational complexity and improve efficiency in a process where faster and more accurate simulations can translate into significant cost savings. The platform established a scalable foundation for Petrobras’ exploration ecosystem, enabling technical teams to make better-informed decisions when evaluating potential oil basins.
